The 10th National Games, initially scheduled for April 5-12, 2025, in Karnali Province, have been postponed to May 17-24, 2025, in Surkhet. The decision was made by the National Sports Council (NSC) due to delays in preparations. 🏔️ Mountaineering: Increased Everest Climbing Permit Fees
Nepal has announced a 36% increase in the permit fees for climbing Mount Everest. Effective from September 2025, the cost to obtain a permit will rise from $11,000 to $15,000 for the popular April-May season via the South East Ridge route. Fees for the less popular seasons will also increase, with September-November fees rising to $7,500 and December-February fees to $3,750. This hike aims to boost revenue and ensure safety and environmental protection.
